Cookie policy
How this website uses cookies and tracking, in plain English. Spoiler: we don't.
The short version
This website doesn't use any cookies for advertising, tracking or profiling you. We don't sell your data to anyone. The only website analytics we use is Plausible.io, which is a privacy-friendly tool that doesn't drop cookies and doesn't collect personal information.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that websites can save to your browser, often used to remember who you are or to track what you do online. Most big websites use cookies for advertising, analytics or remembering logins.
We've made a deliberate choice not to use cookies for any of that.
Our analytics: Plausible.io
We use a tool called Plausible.io to get a basic picture of how our website is being used - things like which pages get the most visits and which devices people come from. This helps us see what's working and where we can improve.
Plausible was designed from the ground up to be friendly to your privacy. Unlike most analytics tools, it doesn't:
- Set any cookies on your browser
- Track you across other websites
- Collect personal information like your name or email
- Store your full IP address or fingerprint your device
- Build a profile of your browsing habits
It just counts page visits in a way that keeps your visit anonymous. Because nothing personal is stored and no cookies are used, we don't need to ask for your consent under UK GDPR or the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
If you'd like to read more about how Plausible works, you can visit plausible.io.
Other cookies
If we ever introduce cookies for something new - for example, a chat widget or a booking system - we'll update this page and ask for your consent first where the rules require it. As things stand today, no cookies are set by this website.
Third-party content
Some pages on the site include content from other services, like Google Maps on the contact page. When you view those pages, those services may set their own cookies. We don't control what they do - you can check their own privacy and cookie policies for the details. If you're worried about third-party cookies in general, most browsers let you block them in the settings.
How to manage cookies
If you'd like to change how your browser handles cookies, every modern browser has settings that let you block, delete or get warnings about them. Search "manage cookies" in your browser's help for instructions.
